The “Outstanding Civic Students Award Scheme 2024/25,” organized by Wofoo Social Enterprises and funded by the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education, was completed successfully on July 12, 2025. This year’s theme was “Love and Care,” attracting 390 primary and secondary school students from 111 schools to apply, and 302 were selected to participate in the program.
This year’s program featured a series of activities, including sharings, workshops, and civic responsibility training camps. Students had the opportunity to interact with individuals with disabilities and deepen their understanding of respect, inclusiveness, care, and responsibility.
The awards ceremony invited Dr Chan Pak Li, Bernard, JP, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, as the guest of honor, and Mr Richard Leung, Co-founder of BNET TECH, as a sharing guest. Dr Chan said, “I sincerely thank Wofoo Social Enterprises for organizing this event to enhance young people’s awareness of social responsibility and civic education. I am also grateful for the active participation and promotion of caring initiatives by compassionate individuals, enterprises, and groups in society. We hope this will make Hong Kong become a more caring, inclusive, and compassionate society.”
Principal Liang Kwun Fan, Convener of the Wofoo Youth Network Executive Committee, said, “This scheme has nurtured student civic ambassadors over the years. We hope that these students who are receiving recognition will feel more confident in shouldering the responsibilities, contributing to Hong Kong and the nation.”
Dr. Joseph Lee, GBS, OStJ, JP, Chairman of Wofoo Social Enterprises, concluded the scheme by emphasizing that Wofoo Social Enterprises has upheld the belief of ” Harmony brings a family prosperity, cohesion makes a nation wealthy.” and believes in nurturing young people to become responsible citizens.
