Wofoo Neighbour Hub (WNH) and its partner organization, SAGE Tsuen Wan District Elderly Community Centre, successfully completed the “Tsuen Wan District Elderly Visitation Program” on 5 July 2025. We extend our special gratitude to the WSE Football Team (including both men’s and women’s teams along with the coaching staff) and WNH volunteers for their enthusiastic participation. Despite the sweltering heat, nothing could dampen their commitment to bringing care and warmth to the elderly.
During the event, volunteers personally visited elderly community members, not only delivering daily necessities but also engaging in meaningful conversations to understand their living conditions and needs. The simple acts of companionship and attentive listening brought immense joy and comfort to the elderly.
Mr. Yip, women’s team head coach, shared that this elderly visitation activity was profoundly meaningful, giving him deep insight into how even spending a little time chatting with the elderly and showing them care could significantly brighten their day. Similarly, Mr. Lui, men’s team head coach, expressed his delight in participating, noting how cheerful, talkative, and positive all the elderly were with their constant smiles and complete absence of complaints. What touched him most was their simple reminder to “be happy every day.”
WSE Football Team remains committed to Dr. Joseph Lee’s vision of using football as a medium to promote community respect and social inclusion. This initiative not only fostered intergenerational connections but also helped seniors feel valued by society while prompting volunteers to reflect on life’s deeper meanings. Moving forward, we will continue our dedication to community service, allowing the power of love and compassion to reach even further.
WNH looks forward to organizing more diverse volunteer activities, working hand-in-hand with the community to spread positive energy.
