“Wofoo Youth Network” (WYN) is one of the youth development programs and aims to collaborate with primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong to provide a platform for participating students to engage, plan, and promote various activities. Students gain experience of serving the community, as well as enhance their sense of belonging to the country. All these help them lay a solid foundation for being a “responsible citizen.”
In addition to organizing the Outstanding Student Citizen Award Scheme, WYN regularly arranges activities for school principals. This year, under the theme of “Love and Care,” two key events were held: a “Practical Workshop on Campus Crisis Management” on January 11, 2025, and a visit to Sha Tsui Correctional Institution and Lai Chi Rehabilitation Centre on May 29, 2025.
The Practical Workshop on Campus Crisis Management invited a senior registered social worker from Suicide Prevention Services as a guest speaker. Through professional explanations and simulated demonstrations, the workshop enhanced school staff’s awareness and response capabilities in handling campus crises to ensure the safety and well-being of teachers and students. The event also included experiential sessions on music and drama therapy, which helped participants relieve stress and promote mental well-being.
Additionally, 20 principals and teachers participated in the visit to Sha Tsui Correctional Institution and Lai Chi Rehabilitation Centre. Facilities in correctional institutions are introduced to principals and teachers. Besides, principals and teachers arranged to meet with PICs and listened to their experience by achieving the purpose of one life influencing another.
