Wofoo Neighbour Hub (WNH) and its partner organization, the Hong Kong Mutual Encouragement Association Jane Shu Tsao Neighbourhood Elderly Centre, successfully concluded their inaugural “Volunteer Sports Coaching and Visit” on 22 October 2025. For this event, the Wofoo Social Enterprise Men’s Football Team provided coaches and players who volunteered their time to personally guide the elderly through simple hand-foot coordination and stretching exercises, while also offering their sincere care and blessings.
During the event, the coaches and players drew upon their professional sports expertise to design a set of light aerobic exercises suitable for the seniors. The activity aimed to enhance the elders’ cardiopulmonary function and physical vitality, encouraging them to incorporate these simple workouts into their daily routines for sustained physical and mental well-being. Beyond patiently instructing the movements, the volunteers also engaged in warm conversations with the participants. This simple companionship and interaction brought happy smiles to the faces of the elderly, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere.
The coaches and players expressed that the activity was a profoundly meaningful experience. They shared that the seniors’ active participation and vibrant energy, in turn, filled them with positive energy. Even the non-local player, who does not speak Cantonese, was able to interact seamlessly with the elders through body language, demonstrating a warm connection that transcended words. The event not only gave the team a deep sense of fulfillment from their contribution but also gave them a greater appreciation for community inclusion.
This visit provided not only spiritual comfort for the elderly, making them feel the warmth of community support, but also inspired the coaches and players to continue participating in community service. This initiative embodies the core values of respect, care, and inclusion championed by Wofoo Social Enterprise. WNH hopes this event will serve as a starting point to inspire all sectors of society to join hands in spreading love and care to everyone in need.
