On 4 January 2026, W F Joseph Lee Primary School was honoured to provide the venue for the Yuen Long District Boccia Invitational Tournament, organised in partnership with Love Inclusion Charity Association, in support of building a more inclusive society.
Love Inclusion Charity Association was founded by Ms Ho Yuen Kei, double gold medallist in boccia at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and her husband Mr Lee Wing Kit, and is dedicated to promoting diversity and equal opportunities. The tournament brought together boccia enthusiasts with disabilities from across the district, who, through a professionally run competition, demonstrated remarkable resilience, calm concentration and the courage to face limitations.
To enable our students to experience boccia first-hand and to appreciate the spirit of inclusion between people with and without disabilities, five students received basic training and formed teams with the participants for an exhibition match. They quickly grasped the rules, participated with great focus, gained a deep understanding of the importance of cooperation and perseverance, and enjoyed the satisfaction of achieving their goals.
In her address at the prize presentation ceremony, Principal Poon remarked, “This event is of profound significance in advancing social inclusion. We are grateful to Love Inclusion Charity Association for providing our students with such a valuable character education experience, enabling them to put mutual respect and acceptance into practice. We are also deeply thankful to our parents for attending and offering their support, joining us in witnessing the growth of our students.”
