Co-organised by the Hong Kong Shared Good Values (HKSGV) platform and Catalyst Now Hong Kong, The Learning Zone for Entrepreneurs & Changemakers was launched in May 2025 as a free, ongoing online learning initiative supporting changemakers, early-stage startups, and nonprofit leaders in Hong Kong and beyond. Catalyst Now Hong Kong is part of a global network that promotes collaborative systems change to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while actively supporting local innovation and learning.
To date, the series has explored topics such as impact storytelling, social innovation, and resource development, helping participants strengthen strategic thinking, enhance project delivery, and build cross-sector partnerships.
Three thematic workshops have been held so far, featuring four experienced guest speakers: Mr. Louis Hau, Executive Director of KELY Support Group, introduced the psychological logic and structure behind storytelling; Mr. Edmund Chan, Co-founder of Meat the Next, led a hands-on session on developing compelling narratives; Dr. Susanna Chui from De Montfort University unpacked the differences between brand and impact stories; and Mr. Ernest Chan, Founder of AESIR.hk, shared practical fundraising strategies and insights into funder engagement.
The series welcomed around 120 participants from Hong Kong and abroad, representing a wide range of social innovators, nonprofit practitioners, and early-stage entrepreneurs. Through peer learning and exchange, a vibrant and connected learning community is beginning to take shape. The Learning Zone for Entrepreneurs & Changemakers will continue as a recurring initiative, with future sessions exploring timely topics to deepen collaboration among changemakers locally and globally.
