In recognition of Dr Joseph Lee Chung-tak, Chairman of Wofoo Charitable Foundation, and his continued support for The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), the university held a ceremony on 11 May for naming its Tai Po Campus football field as “Wofoo Foundation Dr Joseph Lee Football Field”.
The purpose of education is to nurture well-rounded future leaders with both moral and intellectual qualities. By supporting EdUHK, Wofoo hopes to walk alongside students, parents, and school leaders. Dr. Lee has always believed that education is not only about disseminating knowledge, but also cultivating the good character of students. Beyond the classroom, students can participate in sports to better understand themselves and push their limits, build team spirit, appreciate others and respect different cultures. And ultimately, to demonstrate these values and put them into practice.
Therefore, Wofoo has been tirelessly promoting various educational initiatives at EdUHK, including:
– Animated videos on Basic Law and national security education
– Parent Engagement for Values and Whole-person Development:
Community and School Strategies (1) Home-school cooperation and parent education; (2) Action research
– Developing Talent and Building Character: Quality Life Education and Moral Education Project
Dr David Wong Yau-kar, Chairman of EdUHK Council and Foundation, expressed his gratitude to the Wofoo Foundation for its support of EdUHK. He said, “Embracing the vision of ‘harmony bringing prosperity to a family, and cohesion making a nation wealthy’, Dr Lee has continuously driven diversified social services, benefitting various community groups. His selfless efforts have greatly facilitated local charity work, especially in education and the whole-person development of teenagers.”
