The annual community initiative Lovin’ TY, organised by Wofoo Community Hub, concluded its Character Building parent-child series on 14 March with the final session — Character Building through Play. On the day, Principal Fan of Gigamind Kindergarten, together with a team of twelve dedicated teachers, brought participating families an engaging and joy-filled immersive play experience.
Centred on the concept of guided play, the activity made creative use of simple everyday materials, encouraging parents and children to build their own play scenarios together. Through working towards shared goals, families communicated, problem-solved, and collaborated, gradually becoming close and intuitive partners. In the process, children naturally developed essential qualities such as cooperation, confidence, and perseverance.
Principal Fan shared, “Children are naturally drawn to play. When we use play as a way of learning, it not only sparks their interest but also helps nurture positive character in a natural and effective way.” Principal Poon of W F Joseph Lee Primary School also expressed her delight in sharing the same belief with Principal Fan — that character education is one of the most important lessons for children. She looks forward to continued collaboration with Gigamind Kindergarten and like-minded partners to nurture a generation of children who grow with strength in body, mind, and spirit.
