Every year, the 13th day of the second lunar month is Hung Shing’s birthday. Invited by the Ap Lei Chau Kai Fong Tung Hing Association Limited, The Warehouse Teenage Club is given the opportunity to participate in the festival parade, continue cultural heritage, fully demonstrate the interaction between youth and the community, and promote local intangible cultural heritage projects. The neighbors and tourists from different communities or overseas enjoyed the parade with happiness. Wofoo continues to encourage young people to participate in Hung Shing’s birthday and transform their experiences into various literary and artistic achievements to share with the public.
“Young makers from Warehouse” used paper crafts to create an art installation of golden threadfin bream (a kind of fish) to showcase the unique characteristics of the fishery harbour in Southern District. Moreover, it symbolizes fast growth and vitality, representing the energetic participation of our young people in community events!
Furthermore, Warehouse’s “Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Creative Leaders”, learned about local ICH by participating in the festival. Their learning experience will be showcased in the forms of exhibitions, cultural experiences, guided tours, and sharing sessions in the summer. A group of Warehouse’s young people, who trained from our writing programme last year, has been involved in various festival activities and will write feature articles based on their observations and publish on our social platforms.
