Date : 2024-12-12

The “Youth Engagement” school sharing organized by the Social Enterprise Summit and co-hosted with the Wofoo Social Enterprise, sponsored by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau arrived WFJLPS on 25 November 2024. Founder of “Ginger Innovation”, Ms. Yimin Chen and four “Senior Ambassadors” to share their real-life stories with P5 students and inspire students to reconsider and reflect on the meaning of “aging” in life.

The ambassadors shared their lively and humorous stories, such as adventures in the Gobi Desert, overcoming the fear of heights to join “The Flying Man,” creating eco-friendly toys for grandchildren, interesting stories when performing on stage in Japan, and becoming a magician after retirement. The sharing broke the stereotypical image of aging among students. Many students’ impressions of the elderly transformed from viewing them simply as having “mobility issues” and “difficulty in communication” before the sharing to recognizing them as individuals with “different personalities and experiences” afterward. This experience has broken misunderstandings across generations.
