Creative ICH Student Leaders Exhibition and ICH Everywhere – Promoting Local Intangible Cultural Heritage

Date : 2026-09-09

Funded and presented by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office and organized by The Warehouse Teenage Club, the “ICH Creative Student Leaders” exhibition Volumes of the Sea and “ICH Everywhere” were successfully held on 22-23 August 2026 at Citywalk 2, attracting over 2700 visitors.

“Creative ICH Student Leaders” aims to equip local tertiary students with knowledge of Hong Kong’s ICH, while engaging them in the curation, promotion, preservation, and future development of these traditions. A total of 30 “Creative ICH Student Leaders” from different institutions and disciplines went through two phases, “Learning about ICH” and “ICH Internship” from February to August 2026. The exhibition Volumes of the Sea covers 12 intangible cultural heritage projects related to local fishermen and was exhibited in The Warehouse Teenage Club and Citywalk2 in August. The completion of the program was made possible with the assistance of various ICH practitioners and organisations, and the closing ceremony was held on August 23.

“ICH Everywhere” combines online live streams with offline events to promote Hong Kong’s local intangible cultural heritage items to citizens and tourists. From August 22-23, the event featured paper-crafted kite making workshops, Hong Kong-style milk tea making workshops, flower button (cheongsam button) showcases and workshops, movable-type printing experiences, as well as dragon’s beard candy making demonstrations and tastings. Guided by experienced masters, the public learned various traditional crafts, deepening their understanding of local intangible cultural heritage and history. More details in here.
