Connecting Creativity and Community: A Visit to The Warehouse Sparks Cross-Sector Collaboration

Date : 2025-09-19

Hong Kong Shared Good Values (HKSGV) organized a member visit to The Warehouse Teenage Club on August 23, 2025, a youth center transformed from a former police station. The space supports youth development through creative expression and community-based practice.

Guided by Center Manager Byron, participants toured the music room, performance venue, and makerspace, gaining insights into how The Warehouse empowers young people through arts, street culture, and hands-on activities. These initiatives encourage self-expression, civic engagement, and creative responses to social issues.

The visit also included the “Maker Fest” exhibition, showcasing works by young creators who use art and design to connect with their communities, respond to local culture, and foster dialogue with the public.

This experience deepened participants’ understanding of the role of youth spaces and inspired cross-sector conversations around collaboration. Through direct observation and exchange, attendees explored new possibilities for partnership in youth, culture, and community development.

The visit reflected a spirit of using creativity to generate shared benefit and leveraging collaboration to drive change — a living example of shared value in action at the community level.
