Wofoo Social Enterprises(WSE) is delighted to confirm further sponsorship for The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA). We have committed HK$1.2 million in the coming 3 years to support the development of women’s football in Hong Kong.
WSE has supported HKFA in launching various related programs of women’s football since 2015, including the Hong Kong, China Women’s Football Representative Team, and the “Wofoo School Girls’ Football Development Program.” The program aims to expose more girls to football in schools through different initiatives. These have included setting up girls’ teams within schools, introducing more girls’ competitions, and engaging with schools to enhance their awareness of the positive impact of sport. The joint efforts of WSE and HKFA have been a big success. There are more than 150 schools and 12,000 primary and secondary students have benefitted from the program.
Dr. Joseph Lee, GBS, OStJ, JP, President of Wofoo Social Enterprises, said, “Sports are beneficial to physical and mental health, as well as an essential part of good character building, so we have always been fully supportive of the development of sports in Hong Kong. We hope that different people in society can stand in unity through football training and be able to shine on the sports field and in their life journeys.
Recently, there has been rapid growth in women’s football worldwide, and its popularity is sure to keep rising. Driven by the same vision, WSE and HKFA will work hard in hand to promote women’s football.
