Wofoo Social Enterprises Limited received funding from Labour and Welfare Bureau to implement 3 years CIIF funded-project “Community Empowerment Project – Social Changer” in Sham Shui Po and Tsuen Wan. The aim of this project is to promote individuals or groups in community to become “leader”, promote the spirit of mutual help, build together cross-sectoral collaborative platforms and social support networks to contribute to the welfare and benefits for underprivileged family and elderly, and integrate people from different social strata, sectors or groups, leading to a more caring and harmonious society.
“Local Community Shop”is one of the programs of “Social Changer”. The local shops are the gathering places and they will help distribute materials. They are essential in promoting social capital messages and caring about the neighborhood. Lau Sum Kee Noodle Shop, which is located in Sham Shui Po and with a 60-year-long history is one of the partners of Wofoo’s “Social Changer”. Cheung owns Lau Sum Kee Noodle Shop, who grew up in Sham Shui Po. Therefore, he has formed a strong attachment to Sham Shui Po and cares for the“Kai-Fong” there. He hopes that he can help and contribute to the community.
This project hopes to create a sustainable and mutually beneficial community, respond to the needs of community, and inherit positive culture and value of mutual assistance.
