Hong Kong Inter-School Go Competition successfully held on 15 May 2024, which aims to exchange go skills, improve the level of go, cultivate students’ character building and problem-solving abilities, and promote and inherit this traditional Chinese culture.
The Hong Kong School Go Competition has been held for 19th time. It is hosted by Wofoo Social Enterprise and co-organized by the Hong Kong Children’s Go College. Total of 113 primary and secondary schools, 624 students participated this year.
The competition was held at La Salle College. Mr. Chou Sai Kit Jet, the principal of Jet Chou Chess Academy, was invited as guest speaker to share his go skills and encouragement to the participating students. Hoping all students not only gain friends, peace, lessons, enlightenment, and longevity, but also learn to respect the opponent, understand the specific etiquette and rules of Go, which is achieve the goal of “Cultivating virtue through Go, educating students through Go.”
