【Pre-primary Freshmen】Parent-Child Bond: Navigating the Preschool-Primary Transition Together

The “Reading for Kids” kindergarten-to-child transition support program is organized by Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education, planned by Wofoo Social Enterprises Limited and Wellness Hub, and sponsored by the Lee Hysan Foundation.

It will be launched from 2022 to 2024. The purpose of the 2-year program is to help and support K3 and Primary One children, their parents and teachers due to the emotional pressure they face during the transition stage from kindergarten to primary school, so that they can happily transition to their new life in Primary One.

The program serves a total of 6 kindergartens and 3 primary schools and has contacted nearly 1,000 parents and 50 teachers. We sincerely invite you to participate in a three-session workshop for parents of prospective primary school freshmen, designed and held for parents of prospective primary school students. Early childhood education experts, educational psychologists and retired primary school principals will serve as speakers, before and during the start of primary school. and the preparations that need to be made at different stages after the start of school to help children gradually adapt to the changes and pressures brought about by the transition from kindergarten to primary school. Those who successfully register and attend the first two workshops will receive a set of parent-child tool kits designed and written by a registered clinical psychologist to connect emotions with Fu Kindergarten (valued at HK$250).
