Marking its 20th anniversary under the theme “Igniting for Two Decades, Empowering Generations, Co-creating an Inclusive Future,” the WLN 20th Anniversary Annual Conference and the 15th Integrated Wofoo Leaders’ Network Inauguration Ceremony was successfully held on 22 June.
The celebration brought together local, Mainland, and overseas student committee members, the representatives from universities and organizations, distinguished guests, advisors, and alumni etc.
The ceremony was grandly officiated, both online and offline, by distinguished guests of honor, including Mr. Clement Woo, MH, JP, Under Secy for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs; Mr. Cui Feng, Inspector (Second Level) of the Youth Work Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R. and Mr. Felix Chan, Director of Hong Kong Talent Engage of Labour and Welfare Bureau Hong Kong Talent Engage.
During the event, WLN announced three major strategic blueprints for its future development, aiming to comprehensively strengthen Hong Kong’s youth cultivation role as an international hub for high-caliber talents. In the upcoming academic year, WLN will host the second “A Better World Summit” to help local and non-local tertiary students better integrate into Hong Kong’s living, academic, and professional environments.
By joining the “United Nations University AI Global Network”, WLN aims to guide tertiary students in steering technological development with humanistic care and empathy.z
The University of Saint Joseph in Macao has officially joined as WLN’s first chapter outside of Hong Kong. This cross-border collaboration will further deepen the interconnectedness of youth within the Greater Bay Area.
Annual Conference also featured the presentation of “The BEST Awards” by officiating guests, recognizing the hard work and outstanding contributions of various chapters and committee members. Moving forward, WLN will continue to walk hand-in-hand with young people, uniting global forces to contribute to both our nation and the world.
